List of container shipping companies by ship fleets and containers
This is a list of the 20 biggest container shipping companies in the world, ranked in order of the Twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) capacity of their fleet and the number of container ships. The number of ships is the combined total of owned ships and chartered ships. They have a combined capacity of 17,274,462 TEU which represents 83.5 % of the world's total capacity. Hanjin Shipping with 626.217 TEU, 104 ships and a 3.5% market share has ceased activity, after declaring bankruptcy in February 2017, has been removed from the list.
