Tomás de Aquino Ferreira da Costa

Miguel Ferreira da Costa, born 1954 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil),[1] known as Dom Tomás de Aquino, is the prior of the Santa Cruz monastery in Nova Friburgo (Rio de Janeiro State). He entered the Barroux monastery (France) in 1974 and was ordained a priest in 1980. He is a traditionalist bishop with the "Marcel Lefebvre Priestly Union" (see: SSPX resistance). Bishops Richard Williamson and Jean-Michel Faure consecrated him a bishop,[2][3] 19 March 2016, with no papal mandate. While the Roman Catholic Church recognizes his episcopacy, it does not consider him a licitly-ordained bishop.
