Timothy John "Tim" Green (born December 16, 1963) is a former American football player, a radio and television personality, and currently a best-selling author. He was a linebacker and defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, a commentator for National Public Radio, and the former host of the 2005 revival of A Current Affair on Fox.
Biography
Green attended Liverpool High School from 1978-1982 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1986. He then graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1994. While in attendance, he was named a two-time Academic All American.[1] After graduating Green was drafted 17th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1986 NFL Draft.[2] and served as a commentator for the NFL on Fox. He was a co-host of Find My Family with Lisa Joyner on ABC Television in 2009.[3]
In December 2011, Green was named a winner of the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, given annually to six former NCAA student-athletes for distinguished career accomplishment on the 25th anniversary of their college graduation.[4]
Green is also an accomplished author. His book Football Genius made The New York Times best-seller list of children's chapter books.[5] He serves on the National Writer's Project Writing Council[6] and has written over thirty novels in the adult suspense and youth sports genres.[7]
As an attorney, Green has been of counsel with the law firm Barclay Damon LLP in New York State since February 1999. He has been integrally involved in the company and has assisted in growing and developing the firm's client base focusing in energy and intellectual property.[8] In May 2014, Attorney Green partnered with former Assistant District Attorney Scott Brenneck. Their unique firm, Team Green Lawyers, PLLC, is assembled of former prosecutors that are now working privately and offering Criminal Defense Services. Green's reputation of giving outstanding legal services works hand-in-hand with Brenneck's knowledge and firsthand experience from the court room.[9]
Green lives in Upstate New York with his wife, Illyssa, five children, and three dogs.[10]
