Til the Casket Drops (Clipse album)
Til the Casket Drops is the third and final studio album by American hip hop duo Clipse, released on December 8, 2009, by Re-Up Records in the United States.[12]
Background
The album was preceded by a mixtape called Road to Till the Casket Drops, available December 1, 2008 through complex.com.[13] The album's cover artwork was designed by artist Kaws. Featured guests include Kanye West, Keri Hilson, Pharrell, Cam'ron, Ab-Liva and Yo Gotti.[14] It features production from The Neptunes, Sean C and LV, DJ Khalil and Chin Injeti.[15][16]
Singles
The first promotional single for the album was "Kinda Like a Big Deal" which features Kanye West. The first official single for the album is entitled "I'm Good", and features Pharrell of The Neptunes. The second official single was "All Eyes on Me" featuring Keri Hilson. The third official single was "Popular Demand (Popeyes)". "Popular Demand (Popeyes)" features New York rapper Cam'ron.
Critical reception
Despite some mixed criticism towards its more upbeat musical direction than that of their previous album, Hell Hath No Fury (2006),[17] Til the Casket Drops received generally positive reviews from most music critics, based on an aggregate score of 64/100 from Metacritic.[18] The album sold 62,000 copies within the first month of being released.[19]
The album debuted at number 41 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 31,000 copies in its first week.[20]
