Ticky Fullerton (born 2 November 1963) is an English-Australian journalist.
Fullerton is currently hosts Ticky on Sky News Business Channel. She has previously hosted The Business on ABC News 24 and was also a fill in presenter of Lateline.
Personal life
Fullerton grew up in Surrey, England, and has three siblings.[1] She took a law degree at Magdalen College, University of Oxford, graduating in 1985. At Oxford she was a contemporary of one-time London Mayor Boris Johnson.[2]
After graduation she became an associate director with Credit Suisse First Boston, working in London. She then worked for Credit Suisse First Boston in Sydney, raising capital for businesses and government. She currently lives in Sydney with one son.
Career
Moving to the ABC in 1995, she worked in business journalism and for the TV show Lateline.
Ticky became the presenter of Landline, a TV show dealing with farming issues in Australia. She was then an investigative reporter for Four Corners for five years, then presented Lateline Business (which later became The Business) until 2 December 2016. Elysse Morgan replaced Fullerton as host of The Business.
A 2004 broadcast on Four Corners, Lords of the Forest received criticism for alleged political bias towards logging protestors.[3] The Australian Communications and Media Authority upheld some of these complaints.[4]
In February 2017, Sky News Australia announced that Fullerton will host a new business programme Ticky on Sky News Business Channel.[5]
Awards
Fullerton was awarded the Australian Government Peter Hunt Eureka Prize for Environmental Journalism (2004) for "3 provoking reports on issues of national significance – the fate of Tasmania’s forests, the hidden agendas driving waste recycling and the fight for precious water resources".[6]
