Thunder Bay Hydro

Thunder Bay Hydro is a private local power distribution company located in and owned by the City of Thunder Bay. The company is run by a board of directors appointed by the Thunder Bay City Council. Thunder Bay Hydro distributes power to almost 50,600 customers and employs 135 people.[1]

History

Thunder Bay Hydro was formed in 1970 when Fort William Hydro and the Port Arthur Public Utilities Commission were merged coinciding with the amalgamation of towns Fort William and Port Arthur.[2]
