Thomas "Tom" McNamara (born March 29th, 1983) is an Illinois politician of the Democratic Party, who took office as the 40th Mayor of Rockford on May 1st, 2017.[1][2] McNamara got his start as a politician serving as alderman of Rockford's 3rd ward, where he currently resides with his family.[3] On April 4th, 2017, McNamara won a landslide victory, winning just over 68% of votes cast for four mayoral candidates.[4]
