Thelma is an upcoming Norwegian supernatural horror-thriller film directed by Joachim Trier, and starring Eili Harboe. The film is scheduled to be screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.[1]

Plot

A Norwegian student, Thelma, moves to Oslo where she falls in love. She soon discovers that she has inexplicable powers.[2]

Production

The film is produced by Norway's Motlys and co-produced with the Swedish companies B-Reel, Film Väst and Filmpool Nord, the French Le Pacte the Danish company Snowglobe. The budget is 47.5 million Norwegian kroner. It was shot in Oslo, Gothenburg, Trollhättan and Kiruna. Filming began on 20 September 2016 and lasted 44 days.[3]

Release

In April 2017, The Orchard acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film.[4]
