The White Dove (Czech: Holubice) is a 1960 Czechoslovak film directed by František Vláčil. It is Vláčil's first full-lengh film.[1]
Plot
Story is based on a short story Susanne by Otakar Kirchner. It tells story of a post Dove that belongs to a German girl Susanne. Dove gets lost on it's way from France to Batic sea and ends up in Prague. Dove is shot by a crippled boy Michal. It is found by a sculptor Martin who brings it to Michal. Michal helps the dove to recover and befriends Martin. Martin finds out that where does the Dove come from and sends a picture there. Susanse who is sad since Dove's disappearance, realises that dove will return. Michal recovers together with the Dove but doesn't want to give her up. Martin eventually convices Michal to release the Dove.[2]
