Format

On 25 October 2012, Sat1 announced that you can produce the kid version The Voice Kids Talpa and Schwartzkopff TV Productions. It is based on the size of the original and focuses on children aged between 8 and 14 years. About 70 children who had been previously advertised and were cast are invited for the first phase, the "Blind Auditions". There, the children have to sing alone in front of live audiences. The jury members can not see because they are sitting in a swivel chair with his back to the stage the candidates first. You can vote for a candidate by pressing for him ("buzzers") and during his presentation to turn to him, to see him. The candidate comes next round if he receives at least one of the three jury votes. Among those jury members who turned to him, the candidate chooses his coach for the further rounds. It follows a training week in which the coaches prepare their candidates called the "Battle Round" second phase. In the Battle Round three candidates of the same coaching group to sing a song in the trio. Only one of the three candidates is further decision of the respective coaches. The winner of the talent competition receives a training stipend of €15,000 and an optional recording contract. The parents of the victor decide whether they pursue this option or not.

The Voice Kids Germany is the most internationally popular version of the Voice concept with a large YouTube audience for its clips with strong audience interest that stretches far beyond fellow Europeans from Brazil to Vietnam to the Philippines. This is in part due to the fact that the contestants often have a multicultural background with one German parent and one immigrant parent or are first generation German born to an immigrant family.
