Lloyd Dobler Effect
Lloyd Dobler Effect is a Silver Spring, Maryland-based five-piece band[1] that plays rock music with Latin rhythms and go-go beats.[2] The band is named after John Cusack’s character in the Cameron Crowe film Say Anything.[3]
They have performed at over 170 college campuses in the past two years. The band has performed in 39 states in the United States and in 8 countries. They typically play over 250 gigs a year, often playing two per day in the summer.[4] The band has headlined three tours for the Armed Forces Entertainment, including trips to the Middle East and Asia. In November 2007 they won a Boru Vodka-sponsored, Battle of the Bands, in which they earned $10,000 of equipment.[3]
