The Essential Dragon is a compilation album by the Dragon. The album was released by Sony BMG in April in 2007. The songs on this collection were recorded between 1976-1978 and includes the complete albums Sunshine (Disc One, tracks 2 - 11) and Running Free (Disc Two, tracks 1 - 10) , as well as with selected tracks from O Zambezi, Dragon's Greatest Hits Vol. 1 along with other non-album tracks.
