Plot

The film is set in early 18th century. Regent of Valeč doesn't like a miller Spálený for whom local people have much respect. Spálený knows local lands well and understands nature but his family is suspected of Wizardry due to an incident that happened generations ago. When Swedish soldiers plundered the land they burned the Mill but Miller's family miraclously survived. Fanatic Priest Probus is invited to investigate Spálený. Probus intrigues against Spálený but fails to turn people against him. Probus and Regent then go to mill to get Spálený but he disappears in a cave complex under the mill. Spálený and Regent try to find him but they cause a landslide. Only Spálený's son Jan and his girlfriend Martine survive.[4]
