Virginia Guerrero and Manuela Torres were two teenage Spanish girls who went missing on 23 April 1992 in Reinosa, Spain. Virginia Guerrero and Manuela Torres were 14 and 13 years old respectively and apparently were hitchhiking from Reinosa trying to come back to their hometown when they suddenly vanished. Their case remains unsolved.[1]

Last known activities

On 23rd April 1992, the two teenage girls apparently took an afternoon train to Reinosa (a small city located 32 kilometres (20 mi) north of their hometown) to go to a nightclub. When the party was over they decided to hitchhike home because the train service was not available during nighttime hours. An adult woman inhabitant from their hometown, the last known person to see them, claimed to have seen the girls getting into a white car in a main street of Reinosa while driving herself from Reinosa to their hometown.[1][2]

Investigation

Police followed some leads both in Spain and France but nothing clear was found, yet the case remains a mystery. On 9th October 1994, two bags were founds in the countryside with some human bones in it nearby Requejada dam, (which is located few kilometres away northwest of Aguilar de Campóo), but it was later ruled out by the forensics that those human bones didn't belong to the two teenage girls, but to unknown victims of the Spanish Civil War which happened from 1936 to 1939.
