Thara Kalyan (Malayalam: താര കല്യാണ്‍) is an Indian classical dancer and an Indian movie and television actor in Malayalam language. She has acted in mainstream Malayalam films, telefilms and television serials.[1] She is also a professional dancer in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi.Currently she is playing lead role in Malayalam Soap opera Karuthamuthu and she won Best Character Actress at Asianet Television Awards 2016

Personal life

Kalyan was born to Kalyana Krishnan and Subbalakshmi, a supporting actresses in Malayalam film industry.[2] Her husband, Rajaram (Deceased on 30/07/2017) was a junior artiste in films,local tv channel programme editor and stage show junior dancer.[3] She is an anchor too. She has anchored some programmes on Doordarshan. She has judged popular reality show Patturumal on Kairali TV.
