State Route 135 (SR 135) is a north–south secondary state highway located in eastern Middle Tennessee. it originates in White County along SR 289 on the north side of Sparta, and its northern end is in Clay County along SR 52. The total length is 62.87 miles (101.18 km) long, and is entirely a secondary state highway.
Route description
SR 135 begins on the north side of Sparta at an intersection with SR 289 (Old SR 111). It crosses SR 111 north of the starting intersection. SR 135 goes northwest through Bakers Crossroads before entering Putnam County.near Burgess Falls State Park. SR 135 then crosses Interstate 40 (I-40) before entering the city of Cookeville.
After crossing US 70N/SR 24, SR 135 then travels northward into Jackson County before turning northwestward to intersect SR 53 and SR 85. SR 135 then runs concurrently with SR 56 out of Gainesboro, crossing the Cumberland River, and then splits from SR 56 at Whitleyville. SR 135 reaches its northern terminus along SR 52 in western Clay County between Hermitage Springs and Moss.[1]
