Ten horns of the Beast (Revelation)

The ten horns of the Beast is an eschatological reference in the Book of Revelation, as mentioned in Revelation chapters 12,13, and 17. According to Revelation chapter 17, the ten horns symbolically represent 10 kings who simultaneously rule with the beast before the second coming of Jesus. Revelation chapter 13 explains that these horns belong to the Beast of the Sea.

Many Futurists, like Tim Lahaye, conflate the Beast with an evil empire that will rule the world during a global time of chaos, known as the Great Tribulation and that ten elected officials will govern the world alongside the Antichrist.

Preterists suggest the ten kings represent the division of the Roman Empire during the demise of its political structure, which eventually led to the formation of the Holy Roman Empire.
