tello Films is an American subscription video on demand service and a production company, owned and co-founded by Christin Baker.[2] The company was founded in Chicago, Illinois, currently based in Los Angeles, creates and produces video content oriented primarily towards lesbian and queer women.[3]
History
tello Films was founded in 2007 as a free open platform, providing users the ability to upload personal content that focuses on the LGBT community.
In 2009, the service moved to a premium subscription service with original and exclusive content available to subscribers.[4] It is primarily oriented towards web series, concept pilots and films. It produces and distributes original content, with subscription service similar to Netflix and Hulu.[5]
In 2013, tello Films took the unaired pilot "Nikki and Nora" and made it into a web series. They are the first website to create a web series based on an unaired pilot episode.[6]

tello Films is the first lesbian website to receive an Emmy Award for their web series Secs & EXECS.[8]
