Task Management Function
In computer storage software, a task management function is an error recovery mechanism implemented by the software to influence and alter processing of certain commands, their sequence and so on. Typically if a command is timed out this functionality is invoked to initiate a recovery for the affected command by means of Retry, abort or reset.
