Tamara Patterson Barringer is an American lawyer and Republican politician. She is the state senator from North Carolina's 17th district. She received her BS in business administration and her JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Barringer has sponsored a bill to eliminate class-size limits in North Carolina schools.[1]

Barringer ran in the 2012 election for North Carolina State Senate. She defeated Erv Portman (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
