Maluri
Maluri is a suburb in the constituency of Cheras in eastern Kuala Lumpur, near the state border to Selangor. It is located along Jalan Cheras and can be accessed through the Maluri Interchange on the LRT Ampang Line and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line. It is the closest housing estate to Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle and is accessed via Jalan Cochrane, Jalan Perkasa, Jalan Cheras and MRR2 via Pandan Jaya.
Location
Maluri is located close to the boundary between Cheras and Kuala Lumpur's central business district. It is adjacent to Kampung Pandan, Pandan Jaya and Jalan Cochrane, and across the Kerayong River is the development of Shamelin Perkasa.
Public amenities
It houses a number of public schools, private schools and international ones. Most notable is Sri Garden Kuala Lumpur, which has a private school and international school located on the same campus.
Hotel Maluri is situated close to the former Cochrane/Peel Road Govt. Quarters.
Commercial activity
Maluri is perhaps notable for being home to JUSCO's oldest store (though not the first) in Malaysia, which opened on 30 October 1989. Newer malls sprung up in the area in recent years, most notably Sunway Velocity Mall. IKEA's second store in Malaysia opened along Jalan Cochrane, just adjacent to Maluri.
Due to its proximity to the Golden Triangle and its various access points very seldom does one find landed properties on sale as most residents tend to hold on to them.
Access
Car
Maluri is located along Jalan Cheras, next to its interchange with BESRAYA .
Public transportation
Maluri lends its name to the aforementioned AG3 SBK22 LRT/MRT station, serving both the Ampang Line and the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line. Maluri is also an important rapidKL bus hub, with routes going as far as KLCC, Kajang and Titiwangsa.
