Did you know that LEDET members from LEDET's I and II are not eligible to be authorized to wear the TACLET/LEDET INSIGNIA. yet were the units that started the program in 1952? This is because the eligibility requirements and the Insignia came out 19 and 21 years later after their missions. Question, are TACLET's I and II eligible since they were started in 1982? There were no eligibility requirements for them either. The original Commandant Instructions (ComdtInst), newspaper accounts, presentation of awards for the eligibility requirements all stated "Past and Present Members" when the first insignias were issued.
