TV (software)

TV is a preinstalled application included in iOS 10.2[1] and tvOS 10.1.[2] It was released on December 12, 2016 and is only available in the United States. The app replaces the Videos app found in previous iOS versions.[3][4] It allows the user to see TV shows from multiple apps all in one place.[5]

Features

The app contains four sections which are: Watch Now, Library, Store and Search.[6][7]

Watch Now

The Watch Now section displays top recommendations for movies, TV shows, and other suggestions. The section also allows the user to browse for new shows from a rotation of curated lists and the most popular TV shows and movies. The user can also browse TV shows or movies by category.[8][9] When a video is selected from the Watch Now section the user is sent to the app which is the source of the content.[9]

Library

The Library section is a section which allows the user to view movies and TV shows purchased through iTunes. The layout is similar to the one with Apple Music in iOS 10.[9]

Store

The Store section allows the user to find new apps that allow the user to see more content in the Watch Now section.[8][9]

The Search section allows the user to search for TV shows and movies.[6] There are trending movies and TV shows lists displayed on the Search section.[9]
