TOYDRUM
Toydrum are an electronic musical outfit, formed in 2011 by UNKLE band members Pablo Clements and James Griffith. The pair work out of their Brighton based studio, The Toyrooms,[1] where they have written and recorded their debut mini album, Distant Focus Vol 1 (2014),[2][3][4] and the Evangelist (2015) with Gavin Clark.[5] The studio has also been home to artists such as Nick Cave and Paolo Nutini.[6]
They composed the score for the 2014 British action thriller Montana, directed by Mo Ali, starring Mckell David, and Lars Mikkelsen.[7]
In 2015, they composed and produced the score to London Fields;[8][9][10][11][12] directed by Mathew Cullen and starring Billy Bob Thornton, Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Jim Sturgess and Cara Delevingne.
Clements and Griffith wrote and produced music for Shane Meadows series This Is England '90,[13][14][15][16] under the name Evangelist, a projected they started with the late Gavin Clark of UNKLE and Clayhill.
At the end of 2015 TOYDRUM finished the score to Christopher Smith (director) film Detour[17] starring Tye Sheridan, Emory Cohen and Bel Powley. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 16, 2016.[18] The score has also been shortlisted for a BIFA Award.[19]
In 2016 TOYDRUM also worked with Alice Lowe on the score to her first feature film Prevenge, which premiered at Venice and Toronto film festivals[20][21][22]
