The TAI T-625 is a twin-engined light transport/utility helicopter that is being developed by TAI.[2]
Design and development
Development started in 2010 and was announced in 2011.[3] Under the Indigenous Helicopter Project, the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) of Turkey signed the contract with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in 2013.[4] Alp Aviation will be responsiable for production and assembly of landing gear, gearbox and dynamic components,[5] while Spanish firm CESA will be responsible for hydraulic systems.[6]
The T-625 is expected to weigh 5 tonnes and is powered by 2 LHTEC CTS800 engines.
On January 5, 2017, National defence Minister Fikri Işık announced that first flight of helicopter is planned for September 2018.[7]
