Swati (born Swati Sharma) is an Indian Playback singer-songwriter. She developed a following in the music and arts scene in Manhattan's lower east side, and has since performed at Lilith Fair. Her primary instrument is a twelve string guitar fitted with eight strings.

Notoriously self-critical of her own work,[1] her recorded output has been minimal, with one album, Small Gods, released in 2007 on the Bluhammock label (originally released independently in 2006 as Swati), and one live EP exclusive to iTunes [2] The album includes a cover version of Bruce Springsteen's I'm on Fire.

Equipment

Swati plays an Alvarez Yairi 12-string guitar, but unconventionally removes the octave strings and uses only the string pairs for the B and high E strings. Her acoustic-electric sound is enhanced by effects pedals including the Boss DD-5 Digital Delay, Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion, Boss OC-2 Octave, and Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah.[3][4]
