Scholars and other studiers consider each Chief Justice of the United States who presides over the Supreme Court of the United States to be the head of an era of the Court. Since 2005, it has been the Roberts Court under Chief Justice John Roberts. Since the Court's inception in 1789, there have been the following Courts:
