Sunlightsquare are a Soul and Latin jazz band led by Italian producer Claudio Passavanti. While the band is sometimes cited as "Sunlight Square", the name is presented as "Sunlightsquare" on their releases.
They are primarily based in London and record music as well as hosting radio shows, club nights and concerts across Europe.
The group has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, most notably with American drummer Steve Gadd[1] and bassist Will Lee.
Recent work
Having formed in 2004, this London based Latin collective are best known for their cover of Stevie Wonder’s "Pastime Paradise", supported by Gilles Peterson,[2] Joey Negro and Jazz FM DJ Peter Young among others.
In 2009 Claudio Passavanti recorded a live album in Havana (Cuba) at Radio Rebelde's recording studios.
Released in February 2010 under the name of "Sunlightsquare Latin Combo"[3] Havana Central has obtained critical acclaim. Blues & Soul magazine described it as "superb".[4]
