Sundy, also known as Sundi or Sede, sometimes as Roça Sundy (Portuguese for the seat) is a settmenent in the northwestern part of Príncipe Island in São Tomé and Príncipe.[1] Sundy (Sede) is located northwest of the island capital of Santo António and is connected with a dirt road. The settlement was first founded as a plantation.
Plantations formerly dominated the majority of a part of Sundy, much of these are completely forested. Fishing remains to be the key industry of the village as well as agriculture as with many places on the island. It may be one of the poorest places in the nation before Neves Ferreira in the south.
GD Sundy is the football (soccer) club of the village, it currently participates in the minor island championships. they play a their own field named Campo de Sundy which is their home field and at Estádio 13 de Julho located northeast of the village nearly halfway with the center of Santo António.
The 2016 National Championships, the first leg took place at Campo de Sundi and may be the first that featured a club outside Sundi.
