Sukran is a Tamil action film which released on 18 February 2005 and was directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. This film has Vijay in the main lead, while Ravi Krishna, Anita Hassanandani, Sriman and Nassar play supporting roles and Vijayan portrays the main antagonist. Rajan P. Dev plays the antagonist's sidekick. Although the film is not a full-fledged Vijay film, the film has him in the lead and also in the titular role. It is revealed by S. A. Chandrasekhar in the shooting of the film. The film was awarded with an 'A' Certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its violent fight scenes and sexual content. However, the CBFC has revised the film's partner rating in August 2005 and the revised certificate was a 'U/A'.
Plot
Ravi Shankar (Ravi Krishna) and Sandhya (Natassha), students of a college in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, are love birds. But Sandhya faces problem in her home as her uncle has false eye on her. One day he peeps into her bathroom,she complains it to her stepmother but she encourages him and tells her that they will one day get married. When Sandhya's Step-mother (Nalini) comes to know of their affair, she pokes her nose in their wheel. But the caring father of Ravi Shankar (Nassar) sends them to Chennai. For his act, he gets killed by Sandhya's stepmother. Upon reaching Chennai, a corrupt police officer (Sriman) apprehends Ravi Shankar on a complaint given by Sandhya's stepmother that he had murdered his father when he put his foot down on their affair. Ravi is put behind the bars.
Sandhya is persuaded to seek the help of a Judge (Rajan P Dev) to get a bail for Ravi Shankar. The Judge asks her to sleep with him, so she slaps him. Then she is taken to a palace by the police, she gets gang raped by the police officer ,a minster's son and the judge ,they remove her clothes and binds her to the bed and they rape her by turns which they also videograph and after sometime she becomes unconscious. After a series of events, the couple decides to commit suicide. At this juncture, here arrives Advocate Sukran (Vijay), the Protagonist who advices them to face all troubles boldly. They start living in a small house and one day when she is in her nightdress they forces her again the couple gets harassed by the police and Sandhya gets arrested on false charges of prostitution. All efforts by Ravi to get her out on bail is futile. An agitated Ravi shoots the inspector, the judge, and the Minister's son who raped his girlfriend and escapes with her from the court.
Sukran steps in and promises to save the couple. He appears on behalf of Ravi and puts forward enough evidence to help out Ravi. He also eventually kills the Minister Janardhanan (Vijayan), who is responsible for all the wrongdoings. After that, Advocate Sukran himself surrenders to the Chennai Police, stating that even though the minister was a Pervert, he should not had done the murder in front of the Judge.

Shooting Spots
The shooting mainly took place in the cities of Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Bangalore and Dindigul while the songs would be filmed overseas.

Soundtrack was composed by debutant Vijay Antony and lyrics written by Antony himself with Kabilan, Snehan and Vaigaiselvan.[1][2]
