Stoliczkaia (misspelling)

Stoliczkia is a genus of snakes in the family Xenodermatidae.[2] The genus contains only two species, one from Northeast India and the other from Borneo.[3][4][5]

Etymology

The genus is named after Ferdinand Stoliczka,[1] Moravian-born zoologist who later worked for the Geological Survey of India.[6] Many subsequent publications have used the spelling Stoliczkaia. However, Stoliczkia is considered valid because it was repeated twice in Jerdon's original publication, rendering a spelling error unlikely. Moreover, the name Stoliczkaia is now preoccupied by Stoliczkaia Neumayr 1875, an ammonite genus.[5]

Species

There are two species:[2][3]
