- Stingray. is a set of TK/TCL and shell scripts developed by freescale semiconductors (in 2004) to automation System on a chip design and sold as part of their cores to other companies.[1] Freescale's Stingray tool is named after a sushi bar in Tempe, Arizona. It is sometimes referred to as "stinkray" by its critics. In 2004, Freescale systemically moved every Semiconductor design in the company over to stinkray environment using the engineers in their India design center in Noida, India to complete the migration task.
