Stephen Albert (actor)
Stephen "Baamba" Albert (born 1950)[1] is an Indigenous Australian actor and singer. He starred in the musicals Bran Nue Dae and Corrugation Road.[2]
Albert was born in Broome. His professional career begun in 1968 with the band Broome Beats.[3] His performance career includes working for Jimmy Chi in Bran Nue Dae and Corrugation Road, as the sidekick for Mary G,[4] appeared in the SBS drama series The Circuit[5] and presented the Bobtales TV series.
Albert has also worked as the first chairman of the National Aboriginal Education Committee[3] and is the director of Goolarri Media.[5]
