Stein Urheim (born 1979 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar) and composer, known from cooperations with Gabriel Fliflet and Mari Kvien Brunvoll.[1][2][3]

Career

Urheim has been mentioned in an increasing number of contexts in recent years. He has released a duo album with singer Mari Kvien Brunvoll on the Jazzland label. He is a member of Gabriel Fliflet's band "Åresong", and the critically acclaimed group The Last Hurrah (Rune Grammofon). On Kosmolodi Urheim showcases his many different faces, in cooperation with bassist Alexander Grieg and drummer Nils Arne Drønen. The blues is the cornerstone, but influences from Musiq concrete, Chinese and Norwegian folk music and jazz are also present here.[2][3][4][5]
