Stefan Allesch-Taylor

Stefan Paul Allesch-Taylor CBE is a British entrepreneur, philanthropist, radio host, and educator.

He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours.[1]

Education

Allesch-Taylor attended Giggleswick School[2] (1980-1987) in North Yorkshire.

Business

As a Chairman, CEO and Senior Director in business, he specializes in public companies.[3] Allesch-Taylor first served as Chief Executive of a UK public company at 27 years old.[4] He operates companies in more than 15 countries in ten different sectors.

He has co-founded and/or served on the boards of companies in the hospitality, industrial, agriculture, retail, technology, sports, banking and financial services sectors.[5][6] Allesch-Taylor is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority[7] as a corporate advisor, as well as being approved as a 'Controller' of an Asset Manager in Denmark and approved by the German Bundesbank as a 'Controller' of NordFinanz Bank AG, a German commercial bank.[8] He chairs the Audit Committees of several companies of which he is a board member.[9]

Philanthropy

Allesch-Taylor is co-founder and chairman of the Afri-CAN Charity,[10] operating in Malawi and South Africa, which he established in 2010 with a one-million dollar donation.[11] The Afri-CAN Charity supports vulnerable children and adults in the townships of Cape Town and in Malawi by creating sustainable projects.

Allesch-Taylor is chairman of the British-based charity Pump Aid.[12][13]

Academia

In December 2016, King's College London's Entrepreneurship Institute appointed Allesch-Taylor as its first Professor of Practice. His role involves delivering masterclasses.[14]

Broadcasting

Allesch-Taylor presents a live radio show called Stefan Means Business, previously called Stefan's Social Experience, on London's Soho Radio. He interviews entrepreneurs and funders in the SME sector.[15]

Film

Allesch-Taylor has executive produced some films. He produced the 2012 comedy-drama Africa United.[16] He was also appointed a judge at the Triforce film Festival held at BAFTA.[17]
