"Start a Fire" is a song recorded by Polish singer Margaret for her debut studio album, Add the Blonde (2014). It was written by Thomas Karlsson and Mats Tärnfors.[1] The song was released as the second single from Add the Blonde on 21 August 2014, only in Poland.[2] Its alternate version was the official song of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship and contains some changes in its lyrics.[2] Also, some English lyrics of the song have been altered with the Polish lyrics written by Małgorzata Jamroży.[3]
The single version of the song peaked at number ten on the Polish Airplay Chart.
Music video
A music video for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship version of "Start a Fire" was released onto YouTube on 27 August 2014. Most of its scenes were filmed in Kraków Arena during the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner.[4]
A music video to accompany the release of the single version of the song was released onto YouTube on 19 September 2014. It was directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz.[5]
Live performances
Margaret performed "Start a Fire" at the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner on 18 August 2014.[6] She also performed the song at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Opening Ceremony in front of an audience of 62,000 in the National Stadium in Warsaw, before the Poland v. Serbia match, which took place on 30 August 2014. The event was broadcast in over 168 countries.[7][8]
