The Stanrock Mine is an historical uranium mine located approximately 11.5 km northeast of Elliot Lake, Ontario, owned by Denison Mines. The site has been decommissioned and rehabilitated with ongoing monitoring by Denison Environmental Services.

the site was in operation from 1958 to 1960, and again from 1964 to 1985, during which time it produced 6.4 million tones of ore.

I'm not sure of those dates. I was three when we moved there and seven when we left. I was born in 1953 so we arrived in Stanrock in 1956. I attended grades 1 and 2 in Stanrock. We left in 1960.
