The St. Peter's Church[1] (Norwegian: St. Peter kirke) is a religious building of the Catholic Church that serves as the parish church in Halden, a city and municipality in the province of Østfold, Norway.[2] It was inaugurated on October 10, 1877.
The church was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers. He had originally designed the church for a population of about 10,000 people, corresponding to the population of the Halden for the time. Catholics in the city amounted to about 20 people and plans were modified to build a 1/3 structure originally projected.
The church has neo-Gothic elements and was built in red brick.
