St. Martinville Senior High School

Saint Martinville Senior High School, aka SMSH, and also locally known as Senior High is a high school in St. Martinville, Louisiana, United States. The school, founded in the 1980s, is the "Flagship School" of the St. Martin Parish School Board System. The school is administered by a Principal, two Assistant Principals, and a Dean of Students. Academics are organized into Departments based on subject and are each headed by a Department Head. "Senior High" is a 9–12 grade school with 8th Graders actively on campus. The SMSH Athletics Program is highly renowned in St. Martin Parish. The school is located at 762 N. Main Street, Saint Martinville, Louisiana. The school colors are purple and gold.

Direct feeder schools include Parks Middle School, St. Martinville Junior High School, and other local middle schools. Senior High is known as the school that majority of the people in the St. Martinville Area have graduated from. Graduation rates in 2013–2014 were estimated to be around 80%. The school's Athletic Program is one of the most renowned in the Parish, with a school Boys and Girls Basketball Team, a Football team, Volleyball Team, Track Team, and the School Band.

Administration and support personnel

SMSH is administered by 4 main individuals. The incumbent Principal is Mr. Michael Kreamer, who has served as principal since 2001. The two Assistant Principals are Ms. Ginger Francis and Mr. Kevin Dugas. Day-to-day disciplinary issues are handled by Mr. Corky Matthews, the Dean of Students.

Support Personnel include the Secretarial Staff, consisting of Ms. Lori Capprito, Ms. Crystal Laperouse, and Ms. Joyce Champagne; the School Nurse, Mrs. Stephanie Latiolais; the lunchroom staff, headed by Ms. Judy Delahoussage; the Special Services Aids; and the Custodial Staff.

Support Services include the two school Guidance Counselors, Mrs. Danita Dupuis (9th and 10th Grade) and Ms. Tyranny Taylor (11th and 12th Grade); the Librarian, Ms. Karen Dupont; the Special Services Representative, Ms. Cheryl Mire; the School Resource Officer, Deputy Meaux of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office (http://www.stmartinsheriff.org) and the Speech Therapist Ms. Cheryl McDaniel.
