St. Francis Xavier School, Burgos (La Merced y San Francisco Javier) in northwest Spain was founded by the Jesuits in 1956. It covers pre-kindergarten through baccalaureate and includes a technical training division.

Programs

The College, founded in 1956, is a part of the EDUCSI network of Jesuit education in Spain.[2]

Students in the baccalaureate program are required to do an hour of voluntrary service each week. Forty percent of the students[3] are prepared to take the Cambridge English: Advanced exam. Students and teachers are also involved in exchange programs in France.[4][5]

Vocational Training includes academic degrees in Administration, Commerce and Marketing, Carpentry and Furniture, Computer Science and Electricity – Electronics in Middle Degree, Higher Degree or Basic FP, according to specialties.[6] In the electrical area training is given in installing and repairing telecommnication and microinformation systems, as well as automated systems.[7]

The college community participates in the various social works of the Jesuits in the area.[8] A three-day sports event cosponsored by Xavier contributed to the support of migrants.[9]
