Spot.IM is a social engagement platform that builds online communities around digital content.[1] Spot.IM works with publishers to bring conversations back from social networks to publisher sites.
Headquartered in New York City, the company also has an office in Tel Aviv, Israel.
History
The company was founded in 2012 by Nadav Shoval and Ishay Green who now serve as CEO and CTO respectively.[2] Prior to starting Spot.IM, Green founded Soluto, a device protection service that integrates a mobile app, web portal, proactive communications, and remote device management into one service.[3] The company was later acquired by Asurion.[4]
In 2016, Spot.IM raised $13 million from Index Ventures and AltarR Capital, along with other notable technology investors, in a Series A round.[5]
In 2017, co-founder and CEO, Nadav Shoval, was inducted into the second annual Forbes Israel 30 Under 30 list.[6]
