SportsHero is a real-time fantasy sports app and social prediction platform.[1][2] Within the app, users make predictions on match, game, competition results. These users are ranked based on information provided by other fans and experts in the community, as well as real-time news and statistics.[3]

Football (soccer) and baseball are currently available on the app, with plans to introduce tennis, basketball, hockey, cricket and American football.[4][5] SportsHero is available as a mobile download for both iOS and Android devices.[6]

It uses virtual currency through SportsHero Points and Golden Tickets[7][8].

Background

SportsHero was launched by MyHero Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based mobile app developer, in May 2016.[9][10][11] The app replaces FootballHero, which had a user base of over 250,000. Existing users prior to the launch of SportsHero were migrated over to the app.[12][13]

SportsHero is based on the same model as TradeHero, a social investment network founded by Dinesh Bhatia in 2013. It is a currency trading simulation app that allows stock-watchers spend and earn virtual credits buying and selling stocks on exchanges around the world. In an interview with Straits Times, SportsHero’s founder and CEO Dinesh Bhatia said, “A patent has been granted in the United States for the paid broadcasts of users in a subscription-based information ecosystem like SportsHero.”[14][15] In May 2016, SportsHero received US$2.4 million in funding, led by Australia-based Nevada Iron Ltd.[16][17][18] The latter company signed a Heads of Agreement with Sportz Hero Pty Ltd to acquire SportsHero.[19]

Partnerships and agreements

On June 6, 2016, SportsHero announced a partnership with YuuZoo Corp, a Singapore-based social e-commerce network.[20][21][22] The partnership will allow YuuZoo users to access SportsHero’s social prediction platform.[23][24]
