Sorry to Bother You is an upcoming American comedy fantasy sci-fi film written and directed by Boots Riley in his directorial debut. It stars Lakeith Stanfield, Armie Hammer, Tessa Thompson, Steven Yeun, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews.

Plot

A telemarketer discovers a magical key to business success, and uncovers the macabre secret of his corporate overlords.

Production

In June 2017, it was announced Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson and Steven Yeun had been cast in the film, with Boots Riley directing from a screenplay he wrote. Nina Yang Bongiovi, Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Duffy, Kelly Williams, Charles D. King and George Rush will serve as producers on the film, under their Significant Productions, MACRO, and Cinereach banners, respectively.[1] That same month, Armie Hammer, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews joined the cast of the film.[2][3][4] In July 2017, Danny Glover, David Cross and Patton Oswalt joined the cast of the film.[5] That same month, Kate Berlant, Robert Longstreet and Michael Sommers joined the cast of the film.[6]

Filming

Principal photography began on June 22, 2017, in Oakland, California.[7] and concluded on July 30, 2017.[8]
