Solomon Christoffel Obeyesekere

Sir Solomon Christoffel Obeyesekere (12 February 1848 - 13 October 1927) was Ceylonese legislator.

Biography

Born to Don Bastian Ferdinandus Wijesiri Guneratne Obeyesekere, Mudaliyar of Talpepattu and Cornelia Susanna Dias Bandaranaike. His brother was Sir James Peter Obeyesekere I, Head Mudaliyar.

He was educated at S. Thomas' College, Mutwal and qualified as a proctor. He served as a Sinhalese member of the Legislative Council of Ceylon (1900-1916).[1] In 1902 he was among the Ceylonese representatives invited to attend the London Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.[2] He was knighted 1911.

He married Ezline Maria de Alwis. His children include; F. A. Obeyesekere, Member of the State Council; Daisy Ezline Obeyesekere who married Sir Solomon Dias Bandaranaike and Ethel Mildred Obeyesekere who married Dr William Christoffel Pieris Siriwardene.
