Sohail Shaukat Butt (Urdu: سوحیل شوکت بٹ; born 1 April 1983) is a Pakistani politician who is currently a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

Early life

He was born on 1 April 1983.[1]

Political career

Butt ran in Pakistani general election, 2008 for the PP-157 seat of Provincial Assembly of Punjab however remained unsuccessful and lost the seat to Samina Khalid Ghurki.[2][3]

He was elected as a member of National Assembly on a ticket of Pakistan Muslim League (N) from NA-130 (Lahore) in Pakistani general election, 2013 by defeating Samina Khalid Ghurki.[4][5][6][7][8]

In 2013, it was reported that Butt was granted bail in three murder cases.[9]

In 2017, Butt was booked for his alleged involvement in the murder of a politician affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party.[10]
