Social Education is a peer-reviewed[3] academic journal covering the social studies education in the United States. It is published by the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).
Background
The National Council for the Social Studies's first president, Albert Edward McKinley (1870-1936), also served as the journal's publisher and managing editor. The publication originated in 1930[4] as Historical Outlook but, in 1937, it evolved into the NCSS official journal Social Education. The journal is headquartered in Washington, D. C.[5] It is published 6 times per year as follows: September, October, November/December, January/February, March/April, and May/June.[6]
