Boyer launched Snagajob.com out of his basement in his home in Washington D.C. In 2005, the company had grown to 25 employees and by 2007, had increased to 100 employees[1].

In 2011, Snagajob was named the best small business to work for by the Great Place to Work Institute.[6][7][8] Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell visited Snagajob headquarters the day of the announcement to offer his congratulations.[9]

In June 2016 Snagajob acquired PeopleMatter, a company that develops and provides software tools that help employers manage their workforce.[10]

Snagajob is privately held and has raised over $141 million from investors including Adams Street Partners, Baird Venture Partners, C&B Capital, Rho Acceleration and August Capital.[11][12][13]
