Sly Fox was a short-lived American 1980s duo, consisting of Gary "Mudbone" Cooper, an American funk session musician and former vocalist with Parliament-Funkadelic and Bootsy's Rubber Band, and Michael Camacho and a protege subsequently shortly after of David Bowie born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y. The group's backing band for touring included Cooper's former Rubber Band bandmates Frank "Kash" Waddy (drums), Joel "Razor Sharp" Johnson (keyboards), and Flip Cornett (guitar/bass), along with Troy Tipton (guitar),[1][2] Greg Seay and current Zapp keyboardist Greg Jackson.[3]

The duo was assembled by producer Ted Currier, and presented as wholesome, clean-living teen idols, an image that contrasted sharply with the perceived sexual connotation of the title of their lone hit.

The group's first album Let's Go All the Way was released on Capitol Records in 1985, and the title track "Let's Go All the Way" became a Top 10 hit in both the US and UK the following year. The follow-up singles, "Stay True" written by Michael Camacho and "Don't Play With Fire", marked a return to their teen idol image, but these sold poorly.

In 1989 Sly Fox reformed briefly in Cincinnati, Ohio. With a demo budget from Bill Laswell the duo recorded four songs including Gary Mudbone Cooper’s song “There’s No Place Like Home” . The recording sessions added Producer/Musician James Ibold on Guitars, Chris Sherman on Bass, Casey McKeown on Keyboard, and Billy Miracle on Drums. Previously unsettled artistic differences arose between the duo and Cooper quickly returned to touring with George Clinton (musician) and Camacho headed to Los Angeles, California to focus on a movie career as well.

Since the dissolution of the band, Cooper has remained involved in the music industry. His most recent album, Fresh Mud, was a collaboration with Dave Stewart that combined blues and rap. Meanwhile, Michael Camacho has concentrated on acting, directing, singing and he released his solo album Just For You. Michael currently is a proprietor of a well known Jazz Lounge Bar in NYC. Recently started a funk band of his own called the Funky Foxes so be on the lookout and is still crooning the Great American Songbook.
