Skyview Junior High School is a junior high school that is part of the Northshore School District. It is situated in Bothell, Washington, near the Canyon Park area. Built in 1993, it supports about 1,100 students every year from grades 7–9. Skyview Jr High feeds into Bothell High School. It has experienced some growth in student population due to the spurt of new construction in the area. Therefore, the Northshore School District has recently undergone some boundary line changes. Moreover, Northshore School District will be shifting from a 7-9 junior high system to a 6-8 middle school system in the near future.

Changes

The entire performance arts building is being remodeled. It will have a new stage and choir/drama room. The band room is also being reconstructed, but in a different way; it will be leveled and storage rooms will be removed and or rearranged.

Eaglei

Skyview provides a year-long class, which teaches the basics of television maintenance, program creation, and editing; This is called "Eagle Eye" or "Eaglei".

In place of Eaglei on Tuesday and Thursday, daily announcements are spoken at the same home room time. Home room is between 2nd and 3rd period (in the 3rd period classroom).

The students who take Eaglei use professional green screens and soundboards. Eaglei also features the Good Morning Skyview show, on which teachers and staff are interviewed or participate in trivia. Students watching Eaglei can call into the broadcasting room during trivia to provide questions or answers. Many teachers have connected their TVs to their projectors, resulting in a full screen view of Eagle Eye in the classrooms.

Music program

Skyview Junior High School's music program is very well regarded. Skyview offers a jazz band, as well as various levels of orchestra, choir, and band classes. The director of the school's instrumental groups is Charlie Fix. The director for choir is Ailisa Newhall. Skyview received honors in their festival band (superior rating), full orchestra group (superior rating), and choir (superior rating) in the 2008 festival. Both the band and orchestra won gold (superior) in the Canada festival on April 26, 2012.

Honors program

Skyview features an honors program for students with exceptional ability. Students can take a test to enroll in Honors Math or Honors Humanities, which consists of English and Social Studies. Honors classes at Skyview have an accelerated curriculum which is one year ahead of the regular curriculum. Skyview also features a special program called Double Honors math. This consists of a curriculum that is two years ahead of the regular curriculum for that age. Double Honors ninth grade students take Honors Math classes at Bothell High School.
