John Colman Rashleigh

Sir John Colman Rashleigh, 1st Baronet (23 November 1772 – 4 August 1847) was the first of the Rashleigh baronets created on 30 September 1831.[1] He was High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1813,[2] and a leading figure among the gentry in the parliamentary reform movement.[3]

Family

Eldest son of John Rashleigh (1742–1803) and Catherine Batty (died 1800), he had three brothers and three sisters. He married firstly Harriet Williams (died 7 July 1831) on 24 May 1808 having one child, Colman (4 May 1819 – 27 October 1896). Secondly he married Martha Gould (died 9 June 1879, age 98) on 17 October 1833.[4] She was the daughter of John Gould MD.[5][6]
